THON 2010 Raises $7,838,054.36
The Penn State IFC/Panhellenic Dance Marathon, affectionately referred to as THON, is a yearlong effort to raise funds and awareness for the fight against pediatric cancer. Since 1977, THON has raised more than $61 million for The Four Diamonds Fund at Penn State Children’s Hospital. Your passion and dedication to spreading awareness about the problem of pediatric cancer will help bring us one giant step closer to finding a cure. There is a place for all volunteers in the THON community! Take some time to read on about the many ways that you can get involved to support THON and the kids. To learn more, please check out the THON Website, and thanks for your support!
Admission Volunteers
There is a small group of PSU alumni who are “Admission Volunteers”. They attend the local college and high school fairs and represent Penn State. We are in need of several more people who would like to give some time to this activity. The fairs are typically during the day, mostly in the morning, so the representative(s) would have to be available during that time period. However, several are in the evening as well. One large event is the National High School Fair in the spring at the Convention Center. It runs for 2 days and 1 evening. If anyone is interested or has any questions, please contact Tom Valentine at tvalentine6@verizon.net or (716) 542-4550 and reference the WNY Chapter. If Tom is unavailable, you can reach the Chairperson of Alumni Admissions Beth Mabry at bmabry@roadrunner.com
