June 24th Meeting

Thanks to all that attended the annual happy hour on June 24th.  We spent some time looking back on the previous months, and started some preliminary planning for the upcoming year.  The survey results were very helpful, and will definitely assist us in coming up with new and exciting events for the group going forward.  More to come, stay tuned and keep checking back for updates!

PSU WNY Survey Complete

Thank you to all who participated in the first PSU WNY survey, it will certain help us better understand what our members and prospective members expect from their local PSU Alumni.  The information you provided will help in setting the direction of our chapter over the next year.  We will put your feedback to good use, and thank you again for your input!

PSU WNY Inaugural Gala a success!

The Western New York Chapter of the Penn State Alumni Association hosted its inaugural annual gala on Tuesday, May 11th at the historic Buffalo Club. Over 70 Penn State faithful from Western New York, Rochester, and even as far away as New York City turned out to welcome Nittany Lions assistant coach and recruiting coordinator Mike McQueary back to Buffalo. Additionally, Nittany Lions football alumni Bryan Scott, Paul Posluszny, and Lydell Sargeant of the Buffalo Bills were special guests of the Chapter. Sign up form

We have sent out a mailer containing a sign up form for the chapter. If you have not recieved one, you can click here and print out the form for use. Simply mail it in with your payment to the address indicated, and become a part of our local Penn State Alumni Chapter here in Western NY. Also, if you have any questions or you would like to know more about becoming a member, please email our membership committee head.

Gene McCarthy’s Irish Pub Events

Since McCarthy’s Pub let us put up Penn State paraphernalia and has become our home for all Board Meetings & football gatherings, we wanted to let you know about the Better Beverage Club that meets there on a monthly basis. The first Monday of every month (except in April which is the 2nd Monday) people gather for a Beer or Wine tasting, open bar, and dinner all for $25. The place fills up nicely, and makes for a great atmosphere and lots of fun. Click Here for a list of the dates and the menus.
